Since its first identification by Kraepelin in 1887, the search for a remedy for this highly incapacitating psychiatric disorder has shown no significant progress. Cortisol, which is the primary steroid hormone that exerts a substantial influence on bodily metabolism, exerts a pronounced impact on both peripheral tissues and the central nervous system. Currently, I am engaged in scholarly investigation with the objective of developing a therapeutic intervention for schizophrenia targeting hormonal
mechanisms.
